1) You can cruise by sea or travel by land to destinations where James Bond films have been made! How about traveling to Jamaica? Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond books bought a villa in Oracabessa and named it Goldeneye and wrote his novels there!
Today, the villa is rented out as the Goldeneye resort. You can visit the resort and the nearby “James Bond Beach”.
2) Do you remember the scene in “Dr. No”, where Ursula Andress comes out of the ocean at Crab Key Beach? This scene was actually shot at Laughing Waters Beach near Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica. Although it wasn’t done by Bond, if you are traveling with kids, I recommend the excursion “Bobsled Jamaica and Dunn’s River Falls” tour that some of the cruise lines offer.
3) In the movie “The Man with the Golden Gun”, Roger Moore is chasing (or being chased) the bad guys in Hong Kong and visits the Peninsula Hotel. Several cruise lines and land tour companies travel to Hong Kong where you can enjoy it “Bond style”.
4) While Bond isn’t the only out having fun, did you know that Dame Judi Dench who played “M”, Bond’s MI-6 boss christened the Carnival Cruise Lines ‘Legend’ ship?
5) A picture is worth a thousand words is the Monastary complex -Meteora,Greeceon top of a tall sandstone rock formation which was in “For Your Eyes Only”. A couple of cruise lines offer day tours to this amazing destination.
6) “Shaken, not stirred”, we all know that phrase by Bond in many if not all of his films, if you are a martini fan try the cool Martini Bar on Celebrity Cruises or Shakers Martini & Cocktails Bar on Norwegian Cruise Line’sPearl. And, not to be left out Princess Cruises has on the Royal Princess the Crooners Bar that offers “The Bond Collection” martini menu with such drinks called the “Quantum of Solace”.
7) “James Bond Island” was the scene in the “Man with the Golden Gun” when Bond lands his float plane on this beautiful Chinese Island. However, its actually a small island in Phang-Nga Bay, Thailand! A few of the cruise lines that travel to this area also offer excursions to this serene area that also may include lunch at the Phang Nga Bay Resort.
8) “From Russia With Love” showed the underground Basilica Cistern and alluringIstanbul, there are many areas here where a concierge may be able to design a privateIstanbul“James Bond” tour such as a trip to a museum or the Grand Bazaar. Do you remember the motorcycle chase scene atop the Grand Bazaar in “Skyfall”?

10) In “Live and Let Die”, Roger Moore is surrounded by crocodiles on a small island supposedly in the bayou of Louisiana. How about a walking tour at theSwampSafariVillageto the actual shooting location inFalmouth,Jamaica!
11) “You Only Live Twice” showcases a secret rocket base, upon the Ring of Fire volcanoes…how about visiting “Shinmoedake “ nearKyushu,Japan?
12) James Bond often found himself in the most dramatic casinos in the world. TryAtlantisParadiseIsland, you can stay here at the resort or take an excursion here from a cruise line. InMonaco, the Casino de Monte Carlo was the star in “Never Say Never Again” AND “Goldeneye”. Try an excursion from one of the cruise lines ports; Nice/Villefranche for the Best of Monaco.
13) Several of Bond’s films showed Londonand many of her landmarks such as Big Ben. Pierce Brosnan’s Bond even chases a bad guy up the Thames by speedboat and if you need to get out ofLondon, try booking the historic Orient Express toVenice!
